Eggshell and Walnut Shell in Unburnt Clay Blocks

چکیده

Agricultural residues/by-products have become a popular choice for the manufacturing of building materials due to their cost-effectiveness and environmental friendliness, making them viable option achieving sustainability in construction sector. This study addresses utilisation two agro-wastes, i.e., eggshell walnut shell, manufacture unburnt clay blocks. The experiments were carried out on three series samples which first (10–50%) shell (5–20%) incorporated individually then combined (5% walnut, 10–30% eggshell) mixture assess influences physical mechanical properties performed following tests: Density, capillary water absorption, linear shrinkage, flexural compressive strength. results indicated that enhanced strength relative control sample when employed individually, but lowered it. Moreover, combining mixer reduced even further. Nevertheless, inclusion waste decreased density, absorption coefficient shrinkage samples. findings indicate has great potential block manufacture. However, integration needs further research.

Adsorption of Methylene Blue in Aqueous Phase by Fly Ash, Clay and Walnut Shell as Adsorbents

Methylene Blue (MB) adsorption from aqueous phase was investigated using three types of adsorbents. Granular solid adsorbents were prepared from waste wood fly ash and clay. Experiments were conducted in a batch system for determining sorption equilibria. For continuous process, the adsorbents were packed in a column to remove MB from the synthetic wastewater. The fabricated adsorbents and also...

comparison of influence of walnut shell, clay and powdered activated carbon on settleability of activated sludge

the activated sludge process is the most used biological wastewater treatment method in the world. sludge bulking is one of the most common problems relateing to activated sludge wastewater treatment, and this fact causes poor settling in secondary sedimentation tank. sludge volume index(svi) and the zone settling velocity(zsv) are parameters to quantify the settleability of activated sludge . ...

Ileal Digestibility and Bone Retention of Calcium in Diets Containing Eggshell, Oyster Shell or Inorganic Calcium Carbonate in Broiler Chickens

This study was conducted to compare ileal digestibility of calcium, dry matter and ash, growth performance, gut characteristics, bone parameters and retention of calcium in broiler chickens fed diets containing different calcium sources. A total of 96 commercial Ross 308 broiler chickens were allocated to three experimental diets. The experimental diets included a diet containing inorganic calc...

Treatment of Wastewater Containing Crystal Violet Using Walnut Shell

Crystal violet (CV) was removed from aqueous solutions using walnut shell (WS) as an adsorbent. The effect of initial ph, contact time, adsorbent level and temperature on CV adsorption, were studied in batch mode. The results indicated that both the Langmuir and the Freundlich equations effectively described the adsorption equilibrium. A pseudo second-order kinetics provided a perfect fit for t...

Preparation of Carbon Molecular Sieves from Pistachio Shell and Walnut Shell for Kinetic Separation of Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen, and Methane

In this study, two Carbon Molecular Sieves using Pistachio shell (CMS P) and Walnut shell (CMS W) were prepared by a chemical vapor deposition method and used for pressure swing adsorption and separation of CO/H2 and CO/CH4. Adsorption isotherms of gases obtained for both CMS’s. The Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm model was used for comparing pore volum...
